Janet Lambert is a partner in the commercial
risk & reinsurance team. She specialises in insurance and
reinsurance dispute resolution and has handled a wide range of
large and complex arbitration and litigation disputes for UK and
international clients, including the recent binding authority case
of QBE Insurance (Europe) Ltd -v- Temple Legal Protection Ltd.
(2009). Janet is also participating in the Research Study
Group established by the Insurance Institute of London to report on
ADR in Practice for the insurance and reinsurance sector.
Janet is a member of the Commercial Court Users
Committee and was also a member of the Commercial Court Working
Party headed by Mr Justice Cresswell that produced a report on
electronic disclosure. This report resulted in the Commercial &
Admiralty Court’s Guidance Note on Electronic Disclosure and
changes to the Civil Procedure Rules to deal with electronic
disclosure. Janet is also a member of The Sedona Conference and The
Sedona International Working Group on E-Disclosure and
E-Retention.
Janet is recommended in Chambers &
Partners, 2010, the Legal 500, 2008, and
EuroMoney's Guide to the World's Leading Insurance &
Reinsurance Lawyers, 2009. She is also a co-author of
Reinsurance Practice and the Law (Informa) and contributes to
Tottel’s Insurance Handbook.
